Long-Term Villa Rental on Koh Samui: What to Know for a Month or Longer

5 min read

Some guests come to Koh Samui not for a holiday but for a month or two — to wait out winter back home, work remotely, or simply live on the island for a while. Long-term villa rental differs from a short trip in a few practical ways.

How it differs from a holiday booking

For a longer stay, what matters most isn't the list of nearby activities but how comfortable the villa actually is to live in day to day: a proper kitchen instead of eating out every meal, a workspace if you're combining the stay with work, and access to everyday infrastructure — a supermarket, a pharmacy, a gym.

What to look for

  • A fully equipped kitchen — cooking for yourself is cheaper and easier than eating out daily
  • A dedicated workspace and reliable internet, if you're combining the stay with remote work
  • Cleaning schedule — for a month or longer, cleaning every 3–7 days is more comfortable than a daily service
  • Whether pets are allowed, if you're planning to bring one along

Which villas from our selection fit this

Villa Ferrera and Villa Mimosa both have a dedicated workspace and a regular cleaning schedule (every 7 and every 3 days respectively); Ferrera also has high-speed fibre internet for remote work. Villa Bounty has a workspace and allows pets. Forest Residence #7 is a spacious 210m² townhouse in a gated complex with weekly cleaning included in the price, plus a shared pool, BBQ zone and gym for the complex as a whole, not just one villa.

Terms and pricing for a longer stay are always discussed individually — send us your dates and we'll suggest options that fit.
